How do you get 300 e-mails a day that is spam? I seriously never get spam except for 4 a day with my bigfoot address and any adversitements are from businesses that I purchae goods from. My other e-mail addresses get zip, none, nada. I make sure that my e-mail address is never listed anywhere that will be posted somewhere and if I put it on a website, it's javascript encrypted so it can't be crawled. technomage-hawke@cox.net wrote: >spamcop isn't exactly a black hole. > >However, I see upwards of 300 e-mails a day now and most of it is unsolicited, >unwated and sometimes very offensive UCE! > >the only things I filter right now go to their own folders (like publisher >clearing house, eversave and all the surveys I take with NFO and this list). >everything else not of a personal nature I consider to be unwanted spam and >its dealt with accordingly. > >sure, blackholes do need a bit more intelligence, but I would rather not have >to sit here for 3 HOURS daily trying to figure out whats what with a speech >synthasizer (or a very strong magnifier and my nearly non-existant >eyesight!). > >Proudhawk/Mage > >On Monday 22 September 2003 07:49 am, Victor Odhner wrote: > > >>I've been bitten so badly by the whole blackhole folly -- >>having legitimate incoming mail bounced in the middle of >>a job search -- that I'm no longer "fighting" spam at all. >>I'm just using the Mozilla junk filter to isolate it. >>Blackholes are a *bad* idea whose time has come and gone. >> >>technomage wrote: >> >> >>>I recently signed up with spamcop. seems to be working ok as brand new >>>(fresh!) spam was discovered today. hopefully, this will start working >>>soon. >>> >>> >>> >> > . . . >> >> >>>perhaos more of us should sign up. it'll definitely prove helpful. >>> >>> >>--------------------------------------------------- >>PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us >>To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: >>http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss >> >> > >--------------------------------------------------- >PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us >To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: >http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > >
