Sometimes I am emailed documents that have a .mht extension.

My email client says it is a Message/RFC822 mimetype.

It is in base64 encoding. So I manually edited and added uuencode
begin/end lines and uudecoded it, but I am not sure what the resulting
file is.

file(1) tells me it is a "shell archive or script for antique kernel
text", but it is not plain text.

I believe this is some Microsoft file that combines several webpages and
images into one file.

Does anyone know of a tool to uncompress/extract the files?

(Or where is this format's specification?)
