You will need to finsih the install and upgrade the kernel to 2.4.18. This is a fairly easy task and can be acomplished with apt and a line added to /etc/lilo.conf (ask if you need more help.) Then you should be able to use the e1000 driver included with the latest kernel. At least I am pretty sure this kernel has it in it. Otherwise you may need to download 2.4.21 from the testing/unstable branch and use that one. I know it has it included I just don't have a 2.4.18 kernel installed to check. -Bill Warner On Tue, 2003-08-26 at 13:31, elemint@cox.net wrote: > I have a Dell PowerEdge 1650 with a Intel Pro 1000XF that I am trying > to get working, I am doing a Debian netinstall and I am at the section > of the install to load in the network module. > > I believe I could use a Intel 100 pro driver although what driver should > I use so that I will have 10/100/1000 functionality with the card? > > >From Dell's web page I can download the driver although it is actually > seems to be intended for red hat and I am not sure if the install > procedure they list is intended for someone who is doing a netinstall. > > http://support.dell.com/FileLib/Format.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&Category=5&O > S=LIN&OSL=EN&SvcTag=&SysID=PWE_PNT_PIII_1650&DeviceID=2959&Type=&Release > ID=R59799 > > > > Jim > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss -- Bill Warner
