While I do not know about the document, I believe the easiest way to see where things are "on-the-fly" is to run `dmesg` (since what you want is going to be at the end, `dmesg | tail` is a little cleaner). As for Palm Pilot synchronization, Palm took the shortcut on this route. The original palms sync over a serial (RS-232) connection. When Handspring (and later Palm) implemented USB support, they did so by emulating RS-232 over USB. That is why the Palm devices sync using /dev/usb/ttyUSB0, where I believe TTY is a historical acronym (TeleTYpewriter) commonly associated with serial ports. --=20 Voltage Spike ,,, (. .) --ooO-(_)-Ooo-- --0OAP2g/MAC+5xKAE Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/HysypNoctRtUIRQRAvMVAJ9Z4tlklT1zbGp7MEHYRwv82a5p1QCfbnSC 6oW3+sXNQ1EFkjDikicOqdA= =1hmq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --0OAP2g/MAC+5xKAE--
