Sounds like it might be a problem =
with the
motherboard settings. You =
might want to
check its manual to see the highest clock speed the board can run at as =
well as
the voltage and bus speed set for the processor on the =
motherboard.

Does
anyone have any experience w/ AMD processors? I have purchased the =
above
combo fm Fry's and installed everything. My problem is that the =
processor
speed only shows 1.5 GHz and the processor =
name is "AMD
Athlon XP 1800+" in the system BIOS and OS. I even dl =
the
amdcpuid.exe file, which shows the same thing as the OS/BIOS. Even =
the
cpuinfo.exe file shows the same thing. Both file are fm AMD's web =
site.
Now,
I know the 2400+ operates @ a speed of 2 GHz. So, what am I doing
wrong? Am I missing something here? The system BIOS does not =
allow
me to change any speeds, unless I am missing the BIOS settings to do
this. PLEASE help!!!
