I forgot to tell you where you get that info from ...

The systems public key may be located at /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key.pub (or
what's defined as the HostKey in your sshd config plus ".pub" appended to
it).

It's created like:

           ssh-keygen -t rsa1 -b 1024 \
              -f ssh_host_key -N ''
