-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've had great success with my Dell laptop (Inspiron 8200). The only thing that doesn't work too well is suspending it (doesn't work in X due to a limitation of the nvidia drivers). Other than that, it works great, I can burn cds, watch dvds, use the internal network card, modem, firewire, wireless, tv out, and everything else without any problems. Plus the issue with suspending it doesn't bother me too much since with 6 hours of battery life I don't have an overwhelming desire to conserve electrons like I have with other laptops. While not quite perfect, it certainly does well, and Dell will likely be at the top of my list the next time I'm looking for a laptop. --Nick On Mon, 27 Jan 2003 ahologounis@penguinnetworking.com wrote: > I was wondering who has had success wth linux on a laptop(any laptop). > A friend has a compaq laptop and for the most part it works, except for > energy management and encrypted wireless. > > Is there a laptop available(preferrably for less than 1500 dollars) that > runs linux perfectly? > > Anthony > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: pgpenvelope 2.10.2 - http://pgpenvelope.sourceforge.net/ iD8DBQE+NgxKv+hjYTGg7s4RAiuKAJ0Y7NJi39tFXNMbpzOJQNZ4H0R6ZQCfZ1mm jeIrbD26BGxhFvIfaAc6Dos= =dRMe -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
