If the printer speaks TCP/IP you may well be able to just print to it directly using lpr*. The printers at work are various flavors of HP laser - they talk IPX to Netware servers, Appletalk to the Macs and TCP/IP for the rest. Is the printer hanging off of the server, or the network? Steve * people generally rave about CUPS for printing. It didn't instantly work for me when I tried it, so I'm still using lpr - YMMV
