You do not have to install anything, just setup your network connection. Do you have a firewall, or are you connected directly to the cable modem? If you have a firewall, then configure your internal network to talk to the firewall, and the firewall for dhcp to the cable modem. If a direct connection to the cable modem, then configure your network connection for dhcp. It has been awhile since I did this, so I may be missing something.
