Jim, I got home after the newbies meeting with renewed hope that IO was going 
to get my soundcard working properly. The first thing I did (out of 
curiosity) is type lspci into a terminal.

[root@localhost etc]# lspci
bash: lspci: command not found

What? It doesn't work!

So I checked the man file on it but nothing appeared to be wrong. So I thought 
that it was fine as lon as sndconfig worked
