Hi, all-

I know that a few folks have had trouble installing the Java plugin for 
Mozilla, myself included. FWIW, the solution in my case was ridiculously 
simple- step one should be to pull up the  folder 
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and give write permission to group and others. 
Then run the install. Then change the permissions back.

Worked for me.
