I would suspect that you probably use a non RFC compliant email reader. (more than likely one out of Redmond) I digitally sign all my mail, certainly if this list thinks that trying to assure email comes from whom it says it comes from is a bad thing I will not sign outgoing messages to PLUG. I have yet to find a GNU/Linux reader (or even Outlook 97/2000) that didnt handle the signature as a attachment, but still show the contents of the email normally.
