I've got a Sony CRX175E2 (?) that I used to use with Nero 5.5 on my remaining WinBLOWS box until the box crashed (W2K Advanced Server wouldn't stop restarting) and that was the final straw so I loaded up linux with xcdroast on it and worked fantastic. Better than Nero in fact.
