Hans, how've you been? When you say to > Change eth0 to eth1 and vice versa in the config files and restart > networking. do you mean to change the file names, or swap the contents? I suppose it wouldn't matter but for the DEVICE=eth0 statement. Would you also change just the DEVICE=eth0 statement as well? What if the file name and the DEVICE=eth0 statement contradict eachother, just curious. :) BTW, I think I know why starting up the IP of the added nic failed. When I installed, there was only one nic. The firewall config when listing "allow incoming" only had SSH checked. I realized this when I did the reinstall with 2 nics and both DHCP and SSH were checked. Ooops. I guess I didn't really need to reinstall afterall. > -----Original Message----- > From: plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > [mailto:plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us]On Behalf Of > der.hans > Sent: Friday, September 13, 2002 12:15 AM > To: plug-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > Subject: RE: New install NIC problem > > > Am 12.
