I have been following sarge now for a while. It seems more up-to-date(tm) than woody and a little more reliable than sid. Sid for the most part is ok. I have never not been able to boot. but sometimes an application may start giving bugs and errors that were not there before. I would suggest sarge for a stable desktop that is up-to-date and sid for a stable desktop that is bleeding edge and you may need to do some basic maintance of on occasion.
