I had a Sony Mavica for a long time and it worked pretty well in floppy mode. You can see samples of pictures on my website. The problems I had was that you can only get about 30 some pictures in 640 x 480 mode on a floppy. In high res mode (with the mavica FD-90) you can get less than 5. I took about 6000 images in a one year time frame so I might be a bit different and you can see them on my website. I would recommend going to the gphoto website and checking out what is supported there. -Scott -- Scott Sawyer Project Manager for RedHat Incorporated Member of LUNA (Linux Users of Northern Arizona) Photo Portfolio at http://www.scottsawyer.org/ On Thu, 22 Aug 2002, tickticker wrote: > Get a Sony Mavica, and you will never have any problems with Linux, or > anything else with a cd or floppy drive (depending on camera model). > > anthony > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Mike Starke" > To: "PLUG" > Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 7:13 AM > Subject: digital camera suggestions > > > > I am currently in the market for a digital camera, however > > I want to ensure it works properly with Linux. > > > > It's my understanding that I can just plug into a > > USB port and I can then mount the device.
