I've been very happy with my IBM A30. I run Windows XP, Debian Linux, and Solaris 8 on it quite well. The only major problem is the internal WinModem, which won't work with either Linux or Solaris (though I've heard rumors that IBM is working on making Linux drivers available). Everything else works perfectly under Linux, and the key things (Ethernet card, video card, etc.) work under Solaris. My only complaint with this system is its size. The A30 is a big, heavy laptop. This is fine for my needs, as I use it mostly on the desktop and don't haul it around much. If you need a laptop to carry in your backpack all the time, however, this might not be the best one. --=20 [ Nathan Saper (natedog@well.com) http://www.well.com/user/natedog/ ] [ GPG: 0x6D7A0DA0 ADB6 C720 B46B AE39 93BD E598 897E D87D 6D7A 0DA0 ] [ PGP: 0x386C4B91 E6 65 BB E2 31 08 36 BF 0C 87 91 B8 26 AE 5E 5A ] --wRRV7LY7NUeQGEoC Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9YAW+iX7YfW16DaARAs4UAJ4pvTYYtvo7UjFA88xcFOHxTsHHIgCfZ02X wMSEtsFMxh/UG5OPvxpFp3o= =rRo7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --wRRV7LY7NUeQGEoC--
