Hans, I swapped out that video card for one with specs seen below. Also, I installed a PCI nic Kingston brand. When I invoked the startx command I got the following: (--) SVGA: PCI: S3 Trio32/64 rev 84, Memory ~~~~~~~~~~~ (--) SVGA: chipset: Trio64v+ rev. 54 (--) SVGA: Using new style S3 MMIO (--) SVGA: bus type PCI (--) SVGA: Ramdec type: S3_trio64v+ or compatible (--) SVGA: Max RAMDEC speed for this depth: 0 MHz Packed-pixel 24bpp depths are only supported for 868/968 chips. (--) SVGA: generic (--) SVGA: videoram: 2048k (--) SVGA: clocks 25.18 (**) SVGA: 24bpp not supported for this chipset *** A configured device found, but display modes could not be resolved.*** Fatal server error: no screens found Xconnection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). I'm going to try to find how to change the pixel depth to 16bpp before I send this off. Later... I logged on as root and then attempted XF86Setup which failed and then ConfigXF86 which wasn't found. Are there distribution-specific configuration tools for Debian? Next I'll try to edit the XF86Config file myself. Mark
