It seems that the core issue is how to balance the good of the presenters (to keep them coming back) with the good of the guests (to offer them sufficient opportunity to learn about more topics). I guess the first question is whether we even face the issue of having too many presenters for a single room. Another idea that comes to mind is the way the Desert Software Symposium handled it, they had the most important topics present more than once, so you could miss one but still catch the other.
