I have RH 7.3 installed and Evolution version 1.0.3. Since I am behind a proxy/firewall, I need to setup the http proxy setting in gconf. The manual (yes, I did read it) says I need to either use nautilus or gconftool to tell the gnome-vfs about my proxy. Well, I removed nautilus because it uses way too many system resources (e.g. RAM) for my system, and I cannot find a gconftool on my machine, in RedHat, on the gnome site, or in a google search. I find references to it and all the nifty things it can do for a gnome desktop, but I cannot find the actual code. Does anyone know where I can find this really fabulous, and yet mysterious, tool? Thanks! Mark P.S. I guess I could install nautilus again, do the configuration, and then remove it, but something tells me the configuration changes will go away as well! ;) P.P.S. I also cannot download my email with Evolution, which I hope is due to this proxy setting in gnome-vfs. Any ideas would also be helpful for this problem!
