Can anyone point me to a Web page that explains the Linux boot sequence at a high level? I'm not looking for nitty gritty information. In fact, I'm talking about skipping entirely over the details of what goes on in the kernel. I mean something like: o Kernel loads and starts o init starts o inittab looked at o runs through startup scripts ... etc., but I need to get the pieces in the right order. I'll be teaching a class that includes a birds eye view of Linux booting and shutdown, and need to be sure I've got my information straight. I need this sorta soon, so direct email responses would be much appreciated, since I tend to miss some things on the list. Thanks much
