moin, moin, We now have a couple of new challenges. One, as foreshadowed in parenthesis in the first sentence of the post I just sent, is to put on a successful west side InstallFest. That topic's been coming up since we started planning the InstallFest and I heard it requested many times Sat. YES!, we want to have a successful west side InstallFest. In order for it to happen, we need a few people to come forward to organize it. Please let me know if you'd like to work to make it happen. The other challenge is something I posted last week. We will be starting classes doing an Intro to GNU/Linux starting the first Wed of Sep. These classes will be open to the public and free of charge. They will be on the east side at Sequoia ( just a warning for the west-siders: we want to hold classes on your side of the planet as well ). We do not currently have a curriculum lined out or have presenters, so please feel free to step forward and help out :). We hope to run a six-month course with meetings once a month. The goal for the classes is to teach people who have no GNU/Linux experience ( maybe even no computer experience at all ) how to use the basic functionality of a GNU/Linux desktop. We intend to include several key applications such as Open Office, gimp and a mail client. ciao, der.hans -- # https://www.LuftHans.com/ # Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- # I took the one less traveled by, # And that has made all the difference. -- Robert Frost # I, OTOH, prefer to just go stomping through the desert... - der.hans
