FWIW here is town of Gilbert's response, this was returned in less than 5 minutes. I strongly urge anyone in Gilbert send similar requests and get the council's ears perked. -Derek ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 16:07:39 -0700 From: George Pettit To: "'derek@gnue.org'" Cc: Shawn Woolley Subject: RE: Request For Information: Microsoft Enterprise Agreement Dear Mr. Neighbors: I have forwarded your request regarding the Enterprise Agreement to Shawn Woolley our Technology Services Director. As is a suprise to no one the convicted monopolist from Redmond, Microsoft, has laid an edict that all Enterprise customers either sign long term agreements to renew software licenses or suffer undue penalties. I am under the assumption that the current operating system platform of choice for Gilbert is from Microsoft. I would like to know whether a provision has been made in the upcoming years fiscal budget to subsidize the procurement of such an 'Enterprise Agreement'. If so can I have the details as to what is included in the license (preferably a copy of the agreement) and the cost. Also, can you tell me the date that the budget will be adopted and when citizens can speak on it? Thank you, Derek Neighbors
