I am a rank newbie, running the now-defunct Corel variant of Debian Linux. I have a HP "CD-writer plus" IDE burner. I have dinked around with it, know how to append my lilo.conf file to get it working, but have held off on doing so because of a number of nuisances, like having 9 cdrom drives display, and having to configure software to look for a SCSI CD rom instead of an IDE. If I was in the market to purchase a new burner, I would spare myself a major PITA and go with a SCSI burner. -- Lee Einer http://members.cox.net/appealsman/
