OK, here is the situation.  I am installing Mandrake 8.2.  When the installer 
tries to format hda1, I get the following message:

An error occurred
fsck failed with exit code 4 or signal 0

Obviously, something is wrong with the hard drive.  My question is, is there 
any way for me to get in and fix it so that I can install?
