About a month ago, I evaluated quite a few different web-based email
programs.

Sqwebmail is fast, but ugly. I'm currently using Squirrelmail. I must say,
it's awesome. It's a little slow because it's all PHP, but it's worth it.
You can add additional functionality with plugins and all sorts of stuff.

Give it a try.. works with IMAP or POP3.
