Thanks for the help. I made the changes to sshd_config and it works....if the 
box is running openssh-2.9p2-12(I have rh7.2 ans suse7.3 running)

I have an old rh6.2 box running openssh-2.5.2p2-1
I get 

X connection to a.b.c:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server   shutdown).

maybe the older version is broken with regards to X?
