Actually, DirecTV and Hughes Communication is offering what they call
DirecWay (www.direcway.com) which has some pluses and minuses.  They are
high speed, comparable to DSL, don't require a line of any type.  The
disadvantage is that it requires a Windows machine with USB on-board and
they claim not to support networks, which I am confident can be worked
around.  Sprint has a great service from everyone that I have talked to, but
I'm blocked by North Mountain and your right, they stopped accepting new
users.  Qwest doesn't have DSL where I live (sucks) and Cox is the only
other alternative, but struggling with the conversion from @Home.

Satellite Two-Way, if you are reffering to Spring Broad Band it works
great. The only issue I have is I get NO UPLOAD. I mean it's 2 way, but
it's slower then dialup upstream. Max I would say I have gotten 10K a
second up maxed out. Now downstream is absolutely wonderful and I
haven't found anything that compares aside from hard core 4 digit valued
lines. However, if it is sprint your going for there are 2 things you
need to know. 1 is if you run servers like I do the upload is really
ugly to work with, 2 is that sprint doesn't appear to be accepting new
customers. As a side note although sprint gives me good speeds, even if
I pay more they won't let me have higher upstream, so I will leave them
when my contract is up, and join with Qwest.

I'm to the point where dial-up isn't cutting it anymore, and where I

their service, so I would like to avoid those until they stabilize, so
