I guess we are quite on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I got started in Linux because Windows 95 crashed about once an hour on me. I can't keep a Windows box running for more than a week, yet my Linux and Solaris boxes are hardly ever rebooted (only for security updates). For the Windows 98 and Linux workstations, I have very similar usage patterns, so it's not like I'm using them differently. One is a Timex (keeps on ticking) and the other, well, dies avery few days. If you care to share your secrets to keeping Win98 running, I would appreciate it. George Tom Achtenberg wrote: > > My win98se box stays up for months at a time as does my win2k. I've seen little difference between the win98 and my rh72 boxes for this. The rh72 box does occasionally lock up and force a hard reboot. > > -----Original Message----- > From: George Toft [mailto:george@georgetoft.com] > Sent: Wednesday, November 21, 2001 1:29 PM > To: plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us > Subject: Re: Woohoo!!! > > I am sharing with everyone that for the first time in over a year, > I have a Win98 box up for over 4 days.
