RedHat didn't change setenv to anything. setenv is not used by the bash shell, export is. export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror,mozilla.org:/cvsroot I believe that setenv is a C shell, and maybe a Korn shell (never used Korn) environment variable.
