I've actually had this problem once before long ago and I remember it had to do with a line in LILO. Unfortunately (there's a lot of this), I did an "Expert Update" re-install to repair the corrupted files and that overwrote the lilo.conf. I think it has something to do with a initrd line or similar. Bryce C.
