He's right...and to elaborate on what he said i have tried everything i could think of except for replacing the hardware...i would like to narrow it down to what is wrong because i cant afford to replace my entire box :( So far i have tried doing default installs but something allways goes wrong with the installer(YaST) most likely the video card, and other problems during installation(when it gets that far) is with certain packages being either written to the hard drive or read from the cd-rom...i have managed to install the minimum SuSE system on my computer but there are errors often and i cant seem to get anything installed via YaST or YaST2. Thats about all i can think of for now, if i think of any other usefull info i will post it...btw...what does IIRC mean?
