I have an HP n5450 laptop with redhat 7.1 installed. The laptop constantly freezes and the only way to get any response is to turn off the pc which has led to loss of data and several OS reinstalls. I think the problem is with the touch pad sesitivity. Once the pointer is on any control (such as buttons, menu item, etc) for longer than 5 seconds the control is automatically operated on. I searched for touchpad driver and found tpconfig, but it does a core dump when it is run. Does any body know what the problem is. I tried both KDE/sawfish and Gnome/sawfish with no difference. tpconfig is unsupported. I contacted redhat by they don't support touch pad neither they could offer any help for the freeze problem. I'm sending the email through my windows NT machicne and have edited pref.js, lipref.js. I hope it removes the header. regards anoosh
