So I'm not really sure what HP stands to gain from this, particularly with 25 BILLION DOLLARS. Keeripes! Anywho, HP has basically eliminated another competitor in the PC business, which leaves Dell and IBM remaining (Gateway 2000 is pretty much down for the count). Did I mention the part about 25 BILLION DOLLARS? How can they possibly make up for that? I'm sure a lot of HP/Compaq employees are not happy right now because this means that A LOT more people will be getting laid off.
