Help,

I am a (very) newbee using Mandrake 8.0 box set.

Problems:

Internet:

    
    Trying to connect to earthlink using a dial up modem 56K.  Connects then 
exits with the error code 16 (Modem hang up).

    Setup was:

        Account name:   earthlink
        User name:      elburn
        Password:       ******
        Domain:     earthlink.net
        DNS Address:    207.217.120.83
                    207.217.77.82

    Kppp Configuration (shows)

        Accounts:
            earthlink
        Device:
            Modem device:   /dev/modem
            Flow Control:       CRTSCTS
            Line Termination:   CR
            Connect Speed:  115200

        Modem:
            Busy Wait:      0
        Misc:
            _ Dock into Panel on Connect
            _ Automatic Redial on Disconnect
            X Show Clock on Caption
            X Disconnedt on X-server shutdown
            _ Quit on disconnect
            X Minimize Window on Connect


    ppp log shows
