I have a daughter, so unless a company is going to pick up daycare, I
think $45K is reasonable for a former all-in-one IT department. 
Especially when I was pulling $55K and was told by the CEO that I'd be
raised to $65K in a year or when we went public, whichever came first. 
(3 weeks unemployed and climbing.)

My biggest gripe is companies that don't advertise a position to anyone
but recruiters and maybe a friend or two and then try to pass you over
because you were sent to them by a recruiter.  I'm *SO* sorry I can't be
your NFL party buddy from years back, employers.
