I have recently bought an HP pavillion notebook and installed redhat 7.0. When I ran Xconfigurator, the only combination which did not give me an error is 8bit color option which results in extremely large font and only the middle 1/4 of the screen is used and the rest is blank. Any idea why and what can be done about it. here is the specs for the PC Mobile Intel® Pentium® III processor 850MHz, with Intel® SpeedStep™ technology for battery life optimization 128MB SDRAM for multitasking power, expandable to 512MB 15" XGA TFT display 20.0GB hard drive DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive S3 Savage IX 128-bit AGP 2X graphics card, with 8MB dedicated SGRAM video memory Built-in 10/100 Ethernet networking card V.90 high-speed modem High-capacity LiIon battery Built-in dual Polk Audio stereo speakers Weighs 7.5 lbs./1.65" thin for easy portability Intel, the Intel Inside logo, Pentium are registered trademarks and Pentium III Xeon, Pentium II Xeon, Celeron, MMX are trademarks of Intel Corporation.
