I think you can. I was about to test it for that earlier this evening since I'm on @Home, but a quick telnet over to an outside system a friend of mine loaned me for testing shows that my port 80 isn't being blocked (yet). I would think in dhs.org's case, you just put the :8080 (or whatever) after your IP address. For auto-update scripts, you could probably hack them to attach that to the updates they submit.
