Also, the same should be done with the floppy. Finally, the dev=3D and the fs=3D entries should be removed for both devices -- that's set in the third column. So both entries should read as follows: /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto auto,user,noexec,nodev,nosuid,ro 0 0 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto auto,user,rw 0 0 Hope that helps. =3Do) -- Mondoshawan On Wed, Aug 01, 2001 at 04:47:13PM -0700, mazdaracer wrote: > Still unable to get the CDROM or floppy mounted.=20 >=20 > [root@dell pete]# mount -a > mount: /mnt/cdrom is not a block device > mount: /mnt/floppy is not a block device >=20 > My fstab: >=20 > /dev/hda7 / ext2 noatime 1 1 > none /dev/pts devpts mode=3D0620 0 0 > /dev/hda10 /home ext2 noatime 1 2 > /mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto > auto,user,noexec,nodev,nosuid,ro,fs=3Diso9660,dev=3D/dev/cdrom 0 0 > /mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy auto auto,user,rw,dev=3D/dev/fd0 0 0 > /dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat > user,exec,umask=3D0,codepage=3D850,iocharset=3Diso8859-1 0 0 > /dev/hda6 /mnt/win_d vfat > user,exec,umask=3D0,codepage=3D850,iocharset=3Diso8859-1 0 0 > none /proc proc defaults 0 0 > /dev/hda8 /public ext2 noatime 1 2 > /dev/hda9 /usr ext2 noatime 1 2 > /dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0 > [root@dell pete]#=20 >=20 > [root@dell pete]# ll /dev/cdrom > lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Jul 25 14:33 /dev/cdrom -> > hdc > [root@dell pete]# ll /dev/fd0 > brw-rw---- 1 pete floppy 2, 0 Apr 14 04:06 /dev/fd0 >=20 > Running mandrake 8 on a dell laptop.
