Still unable to get the CDROM or floppy mounted. 

[root@dell pete]# mount -a
mount: /mnt/cdrom is not a block device
mount: /mnt/floppy is not a block device

My fstab:

Running mandrake 8 on a dell laptop. The fstab was mod'ed from the
original. I can always reload! AHH!

Could it have been something during the install?
