you can verify that you have libncurses.so.xx, which you should, by doing a
"find" or "locate". and if you find it, you can install the package with
nodeps:

rpm -Uvh --nodeps ssh-2.4.0-1.i386.rpm

of coarse if you dont find it you can either build from source as Technomage
explained or you can grab the dep.
