You can have separate QT folders.  Then when you do the compile you 
can point the compile at the separate folder.

Can't remember where the QT compile howto is for this.  It's either 
on the QT site or the KDE site.  I used it to compile and build the 
pre-release version of KDE 1.9 and 2.0 so that I could use 1.9x with 
the 1.0 version.

I'm sure that someone else will come up with a better answer than 
this ?
