The relevent documents to deal with the common data and structure is well over 80 pages last I looked. Now for the good news. There are a number of MARC reaters and consistancy checkers that were developed for FGDC, the library of congress, and others that may be able to be hacked into a GPL project. If some of y'all go for it I could lend a hand for pointers, etc, but will not be able to code much due to the fact that I already have WAY to much on my plate... EBo --
