Yep.  I can't remember the last time I saw a sandworm inside the city
limits.

I'm a native, BTW, and yes, someone's determined to turn this into
another Oregon. It's still fun to watch "furrinurs" turn red and fall
over in the Summer.  My other simple pleasure is to look at them like
they're crazy and answer "well, no" to the inevitable "hot enough for
you?" :-)
