FWIW: The Zebra (www.zebra.org) routing package uses a subset of the Cisco IOS syntax, and supports a number of relevant routing protocols. We're using it to add value to Cisco self-study scenarios. It's a great way to learn the basics of routing and a bit of Cisco, both of which are important. I just wish more of this stuff had been around 16 years ago when I was getting started! - Bob
