This article was the first I heard of this.

It seems to be a very interesting project.  When the devices near
completion, I would love it if they would post that fact to this list.

Disclaimer: Since this product is entirely free software/hardware and is
being sold basically at cost, I would like to hear about when it is ready
(as opposed to the myriad of other commercial products that could be
advertised here and which I would not like to hear about).
