I am just trying to get Samba to work...period.  I want to get by without 
messing around with security stuff, for now.  I am doing this as root.  Do I 
*have to* set up passwords, on both the Linux and Windows machine, or can I 
get it up and running without that.  

Don't mean to sound demanding & selfish, I have been at this for a while, and 
it is frustrating.
