You don't say whether the Linux Kernel found the SCSI devices or not. Do a "dmesg|more" and see if the kernel found the SCSI card and the scanner. If it didn't even look, do a lsmod to see if you have the scsi modules installed (if you're using modules). Below is what my kernel prints. There is a SCSI card, CD-RW, and DSS3 DAT drive. This is 2.4.1, but the 2.2 series does this too. -Paul Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: (scsi0) found at PCI 0/13/0 Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: (scsi0) Narrow Channel, SCSI ID=7, 3/255 SCBs Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: (scsi0) Cables present (Int-50 YES, Ext-50 NO) Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: (scsi0) Downloading sequencer code... 422 instructions downloaded Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: scsi0 : Adaptec AHA274x/284x/294x (EISA/VLB/PCI-Fast SCSI) 5.2.1/5.2.0 Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: Mar 4 14:21:44 amber kernel: (scsi0:0:2:0) Synchronous at 8.0 Mbyte/sec, offset 15.
