Having just gone thru this... if you already used earlier versions...ie. 3.22 etc...you probably need to run the command /usr/bin/mysql_fix_privilege_tables then... 1. make sure that you have downloaded the 3.23.29 versions that were updated. 2. start the daemon from "/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysqld start" command.
