-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Tried using the gnome menu editor? Removing run from their menus should do the trick. In GMC I don't know... it may require some hacking on the source to actually make it go away. As far as limiting access to other directories... The most you can do is change the permissions on those you don't want them to access. If you remove the executable bit on directories they are no longer able to list the files within. You just have to be careful on what you limit them to. I'd suggest taking a look at the kiosk-HOWTO (I believe that's what it's called.) on linuxdoc.org Blake Barnett Sr. Unix Administrator for DevelopOnline.com 480.377.6816 T 480.736.9211 F blake.barnett@developonline.com - -----Original Message----- From: Icegryphon [mailto:icegryphon@netscape.net] Sent: Monday, December 04, 2000 10:17 AM To: plug-discuss@lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us Subject: gnome. gmc&panel How would I stop anyone from accessing run from the panel and from gmc(file manager) in gnome. Also is there a way so that when they access gmc they can not go up a level to see anything else besides their own home directory? Give me some Ideas on how I could accomplish this. everything else about the desktop questions I've had are pretty much working. ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://home.netscape.com/webmail ________________________________________________ See http://PLUG.phoenix.az.us/navigator-mail.shtml if your mail doesn't post to the list quickly and you use Netscape to write mail.
